Leopoldshafen and Eggenstein (Ortssippenbuch Eggenstein) was formed in the wake of Baden-Württemberg territorial reform. But each community has its own Family Book.
The original name of Leopoldshafen is Schröck. At the request of the traders and the population of the former Grand Duke Leopold of Baden, the community was renamed with official publication of 4 June 1833 in "Leopoldshafen".
